BenQ Board Quick Tips: Cleaning and Operation

Cleaning the boards:

  • DO use a lightly moistened soft cloth/paper towel. Spray the cloth not the board directly

  • Do NOT use Clorox Wipes, Ammonia, Bleach, Rubbing Alcohol, anything dripping wet.

Power: The Power button on the front of the board can help with troubleshooting power related issues.

Remote: Buttons and general remote functions

  • Freeze - will freeze the screen in the state its in when the button was pressed. Press again to unfreeze.

  • Blank -”blanks” the screen turning it completely black. Sometimes background audio will still play depending on the source (an app on the board vs an externally connected laptop)

  • Pointer/Spotlight - cycles through either a red “laser pointer” on the board or a spotlight.

  • Microphone - the remote can act as a microphone for the board.

  • Remote lock/touch lock - sometimes boards end up with both their touch input and remote (IR) input locked leaving the user with no way to send inputs to the board. To unlock everything at once hold the Menu button (house icon on some remotes) for ~5 seconds. May also work by holding the menu button at the board itself.

Connection options

The board will automatically switch to a newly connected input source. You can select different input sources from the “Input” menu. Currently connected sources will be highlighted in purple. Open/available ports will be grey. Connection ports on the side of the board are “grouped”. If you want to connect a laptop using HDMI and be able to control the laptop with touch inputs at the board, both the HDMI cable and the USB cable need to be connected in the same “group”.

  • VGA - useful for connecting document cameras to the board.

  • HDMI - there are a few HDMI ports available for use.

  • USB-B - enables user to control their connected device with the boards touch inputs. Needs to be connected in the same “group” as the video source.

  • USB-C - enables video, audio, and touch all through one connection.

Custom Configurations (must be completed while logged in as the board local admin)

  • Turn on/off Autocorrect:

    • System > language & input > BenQ keyboard (english) > prediction > autocorrect
