Google Suite eSignature (Updated on 5/30/2024)
At this time this feature is only available to Google Workspace for Individuals users. There was a beta program earlier in the year but at this time it is closed to new applicants. From Google support threads
Google Workspace’s tool for eSignatures is available for users on the Google Workspace Individual plan. This feature will (hopefully) roll out to more Google Workspace plans in the upcoming months. The ability to initiate an eSignature request from a PDF in Google Drive is currently in Beta, and Google has closed sign-ups for this Beta.
The Beta terms and conditions list current issues with signatures listing as untrested when signed documents are opened in Adobe. This may be part of why it hasn’t been rolled out to Business and Education at this time.
Adobe Reader and Acrobat warning
If you use Adobe Reader or Acrobat to open a document signed with our eSignature Beta, you may receive a warning about issues with a signature in the document. Adobe’s statements regarding validity of signatures relate only to the certificate Google uses to digitally sign the document and do not relate to the signing party’s signature.
At this time, Google Workspace support has no ETA on the feature being rolled out for Education and Business users. It is also still unclear at this time what licensing level will be required.
